OUR HISTORY
The story of Trinity Gospel Church began in 1985 when a group of young believers gathered for prayer and Bible study in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. As they committed themselves to meeting together, God graciously blessed them in adding many family and friends to their number, eventually leading to their official worship service in 1988 with support of the Converge network.
After renting space for a few years, God provided a permanent home in 1994 to gather in. Through the sacrificial commitment of the members to the mission that God had given, expansions such as classrooms and a basketball court gym were added to accommodate growing outreach ministries. In 2022, God continued to show His gracious faithfulness with the mortgage being fully paid off, and the church continuing to grow more than ever, leading us to officially move out of the sanctuary and into the gym for our Sunday worship services.
It has been amazing to see God graciously grow this former Bible study prayer group into a flourishing church of "One Family, Many Homes" in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and beyond, seeking to fulfill the Great Commission of reaching people of all nations with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We thank God and all the people whom He has used over the years to help make this happen. By His grace, we look forward to continue living out the vision He has given us: to exalt Jesus and see lives transformed by Him.
OUR VISION & MISSION
Trinity Gospel Church of Chicagoland seeks to be transformed together through an all-consuming vision of Christ’s glory revealed in all of Scripture. We are committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Grace (Eph. 2:8-9), to growing and serving the Church as Family (Eph. 2:11-22), and to living out the Work of Mission (Eph. 2:10, 4:12-16) as Jesus commanded.
Through the dedication of our leadership and volunteers, our mission is to exalt Jesus and to see lives transformed by Him. Contact us today to find out more about becoming part of the Trinity Gospel Church of Chicagoland community.
OUR BELIEFS
The Gospel Of Grace (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus Christ: His perfect example in life, sacrificial death on the cross, and victory over sin are the ultimate expression of God’s love and purpose for us.
Grace: The work of Jesus to make us new, both now and forever, is God’s undeserved gift that we receive through faith alone. The new life, real change, and new life-giving relationships come through this grace alone by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Kingdom: The grace of God in Jesus Christ reveals the new, dynamic reality of God’s reign. This is life God’s way, revealed in the world through the Church.
The Church As Family (Ephesians 2:11-22)
Trinity: The Triune God—Father, Son, and Spirit—is the pattern and power of our community.
We are a family in Christ, belonging to God and each other by grace.
Scripture: Our family follows Jesus by living according to God’s Word. It is the authoritative guide
because through it we know Jesus Christ, the only true and living way.
Reconciliation: As a family in Christ, we belong to one another through the unifying grace of the Gospel. Following Jesus includes a commitment to forgive and love one another as a biblical conviction, a strategic gift for witness, and foretaste of our eternal future.
The Work of Mission (Ephesians 2:10; 4:11-16)
Worship: Mission begins and finds its power in worship. It is through worship that God’s people encounter him, receive his perspective, are strengthened by his Word, and are sent by him into the world. And mission exists to lead the people of the world into the worship of God through the proclamation of the Gospel.
Discipleship: To know Jesus through relationship and to follow him by obedience are inseparable aspects of the Great Commission. We cannot truly know him without following him in obedience, nor can we imitate him without the intimacy of relationship. Following Jesus includes both intimacy and obedience.
Service: The work of Jesus through the Church is God’s gift to the world as we proclaim the life-saving Gospel. So our gifts flow from worship into service of both the church family and the world around us, always pointing people to Jesus. Both are indispensable as expressions of God’s grace.
